I’ve recently started a workout routine during the week. I’ve definitely put off fitness for quite a while, and realized that it’s not to my benefit. I work at a desk all day, so I need to at least do something high intensity each day. That time of day is early in the morning, only because it’s really the only time in the day that I have for myself. Once the boys wake up, my attention goes to them. Also, after a day at work, the last thing I want to do is do a work out. At least in the morning, I can get it knocked out and go on with the rest of my day.
I’ve tried SO many different workouts in that past. From going to an actual studio, to the gym, there’s nothing like working out in the privacy and comfort of your own home. It cuts time driving and paying to sweat and workout. I would much rather pay for a membership of workout routines than a gym membership or classes. There is just SO much to choose from!
Here are my favorites!
Beachbody on Demand – I have tried many of the workout programs Beachbody provides and a lot are great workouts! My favorite one is the 21 Day Fix. I’ve done that workout program a bunch of times because it’s not a long workout at all! Gather some friends in a small knit Facebook group and keep each other accountable! You can try it for 30 days for free, which is a pretty good deal.
For most of these workouts, you’ll need dumbbells, an exercise mat if you workout on a hard floor, and a shaker bottle for water or after workout shake!
Yoga With Adriene – I discovered her YouTube videos when I wanted to start yoga again. I don’t do yoga often enough, but when I do, she is my go to for yoga videos! She has just SO many videos for all different kinds of ailments and emotions. You can definitely find something that suits your mood. I also find that diffusing some essential oils while doing yoga can also help you relax!
Nike+ Training app – This free app has a lot of great workouts based on time duration, what equipment you have and your mood. You can even have a workout program created just for you that you can follow for however many days. And each workout is shown to you so you know what you’re doing and how to do it correctly.
HIIT workouts with Dr. Sara Solomon – Sara is awesome, and I love her quick HIIT workouts. There are many on YouTube you can access for free. She also has a great workout program that I have personally used myself that I enjoy doing because they’re short but effective.
I am actually going through that workout program now. It does require you to have certain equipment, but you will use it often enough that it’s worth buying. I have my own little home gym just by doing her workouts. If anything buy the jump rope, because you may think it’s not a tough workout, it really is! I’ve found with these workouts I burn up to 200 calories within 30 minutes of each workout!
